
Firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a motor repairs garage in Wilmslow on Thursday, 17th May.
One fire engine from Wilmslow attended the incident at C Mountney & Sons Garage on Eccups Lane at 10.35pm. On arrival the crew discovered a quantity of pellets well alight in the grounds of the motor repairs garage.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet and a rake to extinguish the fire. The fire is believed to have been started accidentally. Firefighters were in attendance for around 20 minutes.
Earlier in the evening firefighters were called to a fire in a manhole in a field in Handforth. At around 8.30pm one fire engine from Wilmslow attended the incident in a field in Knowle Park.
On arrival the crew discovered that the fire involved tree debris in a manhole. Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. They then used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots in the manhole. Firefighters were at the scene for around 45 minutes and the police were also in attendance.
