Carrwood Road in Wilmslow is the tenth most expensive street in the North West, with an average house price of £864,916, according to the latest research from Halifax.
With an average property price of £1,205,833 Withinlee Road in Prestbury is the most expensive street in the North West, and also the most expensive street outside the south of England.
Using transactions data from the Land Registry and 1.78 million individual postcodes from the Royal Mail, the Halifax have compiled a study of the most expensive streets in England and Wales covering the period of September 2005 until September 2008.
Wycombe Square in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is the most expensive street with an average property price of £5,401,447. The ten most expensive streets in England and Wales are all in Greater London and the ten most expensive in the North West are all in areas south of Manchester. Five of the nine regions in England have streets with an average house price of over £1,000,000.

Nitesh Patel, housing economist at Halifax, said "Unsurprisingly, many of the most expensive residential streets in England and Wales are in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea with more than half of the 30 most expensive London Streets in the borough. Across most regions, the survey shows that the most expensive streets are tightly clustered within the same area."
