The ladies first team faced Bolton this weekend, in a very tense match, the ladies were incredibly unlucky to leave the game with just 1 point, following a fabulous display of hockey. Both teams were level pegged from the start, and throughout the whole game. However in the last few minutes of the match Bolton were awarded a short corner, which they neatly converted leaving the ladies with an unfortunate 3-2 loss.Next week they face Wrexham.

Wilmslow hockey club ladies 2nd team faced the ladies 3rd team this weekend, in their first league match back after the Christmas break. The ladies second team were looking for a win to secure their first team positioning in the league, whilst the ladies second team were looking to pursue their way higher up the league. The ladies were evenly matched shortly after the opening of the game, however the second team found their chance and quickly converted with a reverse shot from Rachel Payne to fire into the bottom corner of the goal.

The third team were not downbeat and continued to press the ladies second team, however, with little luck in the D. The 2nd team continued to attack the third team and were soon 2-0 up. However the third team defended well and prevented the second team having any more chances before the break. The second half continued in a similar manner to the first half, with the second team converting 2 more chances to put them 4-0 up with goals from Jenn Nurmi. The second team are now 8 points clear at the top of the table and the third team are sitting comfortably in the middle of the table, with all to play for the remainder of the season.

Wilmslow men's 3rd team picked up where they left off after the Christmas break. Producing one of the best displays of the season to overpower a strengthened Colwyn Bay side 5-2 and tighten their stranglehold on the division. The away side opened the scoring through the returning Dan Wright, who produced a neat reverse stick finish to justify Captain Eden's faith in him. Ric Pheiffer then produced a trademark mazy run before squaring for James Bell, who duly doubled the advantage.

A scrappy goal on the stroke of half time gave Colwyn Bay hope, but Wilmslow wasted no time re-establishing a 2-goal cushion after the break, a fine team move rounded off by Bell. Colwyn Bay briefly threatened a comeback after another messy goal, but Wilmslow showed their mettle and found another gear late in the game, a Dan Toal short corner and close-range strike from Pheiffer putting things to bed.

Elsewhere the men's first team game was called off but they are still 7 points clear at the top of the table. The men's third team put in an outstanding performance against Lymm beating them 10-0, whilst the fourth team also put in a very strong performance beating Sale 6-0.
