Cinema on the Carrs to get an upgrade

The successful Cinema on the Carrs event, delivered by Wilmslow Town Council, will be returning for a third year on Saturday 10th June 2017 and is set to receive an upgrade.

Plans are in progress to ensure all the family are entertained and organisers will soon be inviting the public to help select both the evening movie and a new afternoon movie aimed at children and young families.

In addition to the family movie the afternoon event will feature movie themed catering, a bouncy castle area, duck racing and children's craft stalls.

Matthew Jackson, Town Clerk, said "Following on from the success of 'Mamma Mia' in 2015 and 'Grease' last summer, when a record 1500 residents danced and partied in the open air auditorium, this free to attend event will culminate when gates open for the main feature from 6pm.

"On what is sure to be a great day for all members of the family, Saturday 10 June should be marked down on your 2017 calendar as a day to meet up with friends, enjoy the fabulous Carrs Country Park and enjoy a unique free open-air movie experience."

We will reader's informed as plans progress for the 2017 Cinema on the Carrs event.

Great news. Grease was promoted as a family film but its not. Some very dodgy lyrics and ideas. Finally its a family event.
