Election Results 2015: Handforth Parish Council

The results have been announced for this week's Handforth Parish Council election where there are seven seats.

One of the wards was uncontested so elections only took place in Handforth East and Handforth South.

The results were:

Handforth East Ward

• Beryl Chapman, Independent - 226 votes

• Cynthia Sampson, Improving Handforth - 534 votes

• John Smith, Improving Handforth - 473 votes

Therefore Cynthia Sampson and John Smith were elected.

The turnout was 53.93% and 44 votes were rejected.

Handforth South Ward

• Ian Clark, Independent - 540 votes

• Victor Moran, Improving Handforth - 346 votes

• Brian Tolver, Independent - 486 votes

Therefore Ian Clark and Brian Tolver have been elected.

The turnout was 68.97% and 37 votes were rejected.

Handforth West Ward was uncontested as only three candidates have been nominated and there are three seats for this ward on the Parish Council. The new councillors therefore are:

• Kerry Burgess, Independent and Protect Greenbelt

• Matthew Clark, Independent

• Kerry Sullivan, Improving Handforth
