Stanley Hall Park, which is located on Peover Road, Handforth, now has a new Friends group who are working in partnership with Cheshire East and ANSA.

The Friends of Stanley Hall Park have come together to renew, repair, replace and where possible install new facilities within the park.

Chair John Smith said "Discussions will be taking place with park users and neighbours to identify areas which require improvement.

"Funding will be sought from all possible agencies and organisations to create a park which meets the needs of all ages including parents with toddlers in the Kiddies play area, skateboarders, footballers, dog walkers and those using the park for a gentle walk."

The group are organising a Family Funday scheduled for May 10th, further information will be posted in our events calendar nearer the time.

Great news - Handforth now has two "Friends" of parks in the village. Friends of Meriton Road Park and Friends of Stanley Hall Park. It is heartening to know that local folk are willing to volunteer their time and efforts "free of charge" for the benefit of Handforth residents. Stanley Hall Park, which has already received £210,000 of grants from the efforts of Spath Lane Residents Association and with which the new group have now formed a partnership. There is undoubtedly a wealth of experience from this alliance to help with their new endeavours and I wish them the best.

This facility is worthy of the support of the whole community. It will be a great asset for young and "Not So Young" alike. A place to have fun and breathe the fresh air, play games and exercise the mind and body. Therefore it is important that the MAXIMUM effort is made in order for the "Friends of Stanley Hall Park" to achieve their ambitions, they deserve your help, give generously.!!!!
