Change of use granted for car showroom

deansway

Planning permission has been granted for the change of use of some offices in Handforth to create a car showroom.

Orbit Investment Properties have also been given permission for a ground floor extension, elevational alterations and an external lifting platform at Deanway One, located on Manchester Road, Handforth.

The scheme is for an increase of 160 sqm to the vacant two-storey building which is located south of Handforth where there is an existing cluster of car related businesses. This will enable a glazed frontage to be added for display purposes. Other changes to the layout include an external vehicle display area, new loading doors at the rear and a new main entrance with level access at the front of the building.

The planning application can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 14/4615M.

How did this fit with the argument from developers that Wilmslow and Handforth need more office space?

Surely this would be a perfect site for some of the housing we "desperately" need.

Jackie, what Jones/Emerson/Orbit wants...

I'm interested to see that they are taking out a fair bit of advertising recently on this site. We must thank them for their support.

I live behind this, and I got a letter about this from Cheshire East to submit comments. No wish to object, I think it will be a great addition to Handforth. And it not on Greenbelt.
