On Friday, 12th December, James Maguire & Co, Family Law solicitors, Wilmslow signed up to Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day and involved other local businesses within the offices at BlackBox.
Whilst some approached the day with trepidation about wearing in public and in front of their work colleagues their knitted jumper that Granny had made them or the Christmas jumper their partner had purchased for them and promised was just for Christmas Day, these fears were soon forgotten as everyone got into the Christmas spirit and supporting the fantastic cause that is Save the Children.
Save the Children is a global children's charity which helps tackle the poverty that harms a child's chances, acts in emergency or disaster situations, provides access to better healthcare worldwide and much more. In 2013, Save the Children helped 15.4 million children through their work across the world.
Christmas Jumper Day is in its third year. Over the last two years it has raised £1.6 million. This year the Government has pledged to match every pound that is raised by the public. James Maguire & Co were pleased to raise £77, which James has agreed to match, taking the total to £154. The firm are now hoping to make this an annual event.
