Wilmslow Neighbourhood Policing Team and Cheshire Fire Service carried out a Driver Engagement Day on Station Road, Handforth on Thursday, 20th February.
The main focus during the two and a half hour exercise was on speeding, but they were also looking out for drivers using mobile phones and not wearing their seat belts.
In total 15 drivers were detected exceeding the 30mph speed limit, but only by a small margin so they were shown an educational video by the Fire Service. No drivers exceeded the speed limit by a sufficient margin that they were given a Traffic Offence Report (ticket).
Three drivers, or passengers, were caught not wearing a seat belt, they were also shown the educational video by the Fire Service, and three individuals were issued warnings after being found in possession of a small amount of cannabis.
Additionally one ticket was issued to a driver found using their mobile phone whilst driving.
Sgt Andy Miller said "On the whole it was a successful morning and we were encouraged by the response of the community and the drivers to this regular event. We would also like to thank Cheshire Fire and Rescue who are partners in these events."
Driver Engagement Days will take place regularly, at least on a monthly basis, in the Wilmslow and Alderley Edge area.

Another success storey for Britains finest.
Just a shame Sgt Andy Miller can't engage to resolve the problems on Earls Road.
