Police search Lindfield Estate area following a burglary

North West Air Operations Group assisted Wilmslow Neighbourhood Police after a burglary was reported on Northward Road at 6.40 this evening.

Patrols attended and males were seen running away from the scene.

Sgt Andy Miller said "We had a lot of officers trying to contain a large area from Bourne Street to Chapel Lane and Lindfield Estate North and South until the helicopter came over and made a search."

Sgt Miller added "One offender was caught and arrested but at least one other has made off. Unfortunatley we have not been able to find the outstanding person or persons."

If anyone has any information about this incident please contact Wilmslow Police on 101 or, to pass on information in confidence, phone Crimestoppers on 0800555111.

I dare not think of the amount of money it took to keep that helicopter in the air but ! Wilmslow Police will do everything they can to make sure they are found.
Lindfield estate is a small community, so it's only a matter of time before the other or others are arrested.
I am 50 years old with a mother suffering from lung cancer, once it becomes dark i will NOT open the door to anyone ! you never know who is stood on the other side, call me paranoid but, that's what wilmslow has done to me !

community home watch should be reinforced !!

Many thanks for reading my post.

Well, although they are noisy........and provide a good service..........make the most of what will become a rare sight !!.....

In all the austerity measures affecting law enforcement in UK quite a number of the light aircraft / helicopters are being removed from service ........and then what remains will be pooled between several regions of the UK under the National Police Air Service ( NPAS )
based in West Yorkshire ............http://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/npas
