Police investigating two incidents of attempted robbery in Wilmslow have arrested a 41-year-old local man.
He has since been released on police bail pending further investigation.
The incidents occurred between 6.30am and 7.30am off Manchester Road on Sunday, 24th November, and Lacey Green Park on Tuesday, 26th November.
Both victims were women who were walking their dogs at the time.
DC Tim Humpage said: "Officers have stepped up patrols in the area and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.
"In the meantime, we would urge dog walkers to be vigilant and stay in well lit areas during the dark morning walks.
"If you see anyone acting suspiciously while you are out on your walk, please contact police straight away."
