Firefighters were called to a report of a fire on land off Moor Lane this morning.

One fire engine from Wilmslow was called to the incident at 11.53 am today (Thursday, 25th July).

Crews found the fire involved a number of logs and tree cuttings that were being intentionally burnt. However, they put the fire out using a hose reel and beaters as they feared it could spread.

Yesterday, three crews were called to a report of a house fire on Barlow Road in Wilmslow.

Fire engines from Wilmslow, Knutsford and Macclesfield attended the incident at 4.23pm on Wednesday, 24th July.

When they arrived crews found that the fire had started in a chip pan. This person who lived at the address had out the fire out by smothering the flames.

Crews used a specialist fan to clear smoke from the property and carried out a Home Safety Assessment before leaving.
