Fair play award for Wilmslow Hockey Club

WHC FAIR PLAY AWARD 2013

Wilmslow Hockey 1st XI has picked up the Fair Play Award for the North West Hockey Leagues for the 2012/13 season.

From over 300 teams that participate in over 20 North West Leagues, Wilmslow 1st XI, who play in Division 2, have come out fairest of all!

Wilmslow 3rd XI were also in the shortlist, but were 'pipped to the post' by their 1st XI colleagues.

Matt Westbrook, 1st XI Captain, commented "This is a great reward for the way we like to play hockey at Wilmslow. We always aim to win. But, win or lose we try to play fairly."

Wilmslow 1st XI has a young, up-and-coming team, including many future stars such as 17 year-old Elliot Bullman who is currently with the U18 Manchester JRPC (North West Squad), having previously reached the National

Age Group Squad for England at U16 level. Elliott harbours strong aspirations to represent his country in the future.
