Have your say on fire and rescue service plans

Wilmslow residents are being invited to a community roadshow to share their views on Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service's plans for the future.

The Service has launched a draft version of its Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) for 2012/13 which sets out how Cheshire Fire Authority intends to address some of the challenges it will face in the coming year.

The Plan will be available for residents to view and have their say on at Sainsbury's on Wednesday, November 16th, from 10am and 2pm.

The consultation aims to get people's views on a range of issues such as: how the service responds to certain types of incidents such as; animal rescues and false alarms, how much of a role the Service takes in delivering road safety education and plans to review the locations of our current fire stations.

Cllr David Topping, the Chair of the Fire Authority, said: "I would encourage residents to get involved with this consultation and share your views about the direction of the Service. We had a great response to last year's consultation and are hoping that this will repeated. The feedback you provide really helps us to shape the future of your fire and rescue service."

Paul Hancock, Chief Fire Officer for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, explained: "We maintain a strong focus on both the safety of our communities and our firefighters. I would really like people to get involved with this consultation and share their thoughts about the direction we are planning to take as a Service."

Residents who are unable to attend the roadshow at Sainsbury's can complete a brief online survey or contact the Service's Corporate Communications Department on 01606 868408 and request a paper copy of the draft plan and survey.
