Bands to stage rugby fundraiser

Two local bands will be showcasing Wilmslow's musical talent at the weekend to raise funds for their forthcoming rugby tour.

Wildfire and Motion Blur will be performing at Wilmslow Rugby Club on Saturday, 15th October, to help fund the Wilmslow Wolves Junior Colts and the U15s tour to France in May.

The Band Night has been organised because members from both bands play in the rugby teams. Tom Miller, Adam Sixsmith, Ravi Bhattacharjee and Ken Ching who make up Wildfire are sixth formers from Manchester Grammar School. Drummer Tom Miller is a Wolves player and this will be the band's first gig. They will performing original material with a few covers thrown in.

Motion Blur is made up of Year 10 students at Wilmslow High School: Bryn Howells, Lewis Kennedy, Ben Bowker, Matt Crawford and bass player Will Sharland who plays for Wilmslow Wolves. As does guitarist Bryn Howells who previously played in Bad Blood who won Battle of the Bands.

Wildfire and Motion Blur will be joined by special guests at Saturday's Band Night which starts at 7.30pm. Food will be available on the night and tickets, costing £5 or £10 per family, are available from Wilmslow RFC and Mailboxes Etc on Water Lane. Tickets will also be available on the door.
