Pepperberry nursery enjoys a bright start

Peppa Pig and the characters from In The Night Garden celebrated the opening of Pepperberry Day Nursery in Wilmslow last weekend.

Hundreds of parents and children flocked to the new purpose built centre in Cygnet Court to see what the nursery had to offer. As well as meeting their favourite TV characters, children enjoyed face painting, yoga and dancing games.

Gillian Akaraoyne, Director at Pepperberry, said: "We have spent over a year painstakingly putting the plans for the nursery together and now it feels like it is finally coming alive.

"We started with the promise that we would create a centre to benefit them and help them flourish and grow. It's been lovely to see how the children have responded. They have settled quickly and really seemed to enjoy the facilities both indoors and outside too.

"We've also been lucky enough to recruit a fantastic team of staff, with over 60% being educated to degree level, and we really feel we have a lot to offer."

Her partner Tony Akaraoyne added: "We wanted to give the nursery a homely feel and for it to be part of the community.

"From the feedback we have had we feel that we have created something for parents and children to enjoy and we can't wait to welcome them when we open next week."

Gary Barton, Conservative Councillor for Wilmslow West, cut the ribbon to officially open the nursery on Saturday.

He said: "It's good to see any new business starting out with the economy in the state it is in at the moment.

"Pepperberry is in a great location and is an asset to the parents and children of Wilmslow and I hope it is a real success."

Gillian and Anthony are now hoping to open more Pepperberry nurseries across Cheshire.

Gillian said: "We've been thrilled with the response to our Wilmslow nursery and would like to branch out in the coming years."
