A group of the UK's leading musicians are in the process of setting up a new series of classical chamber music concerts in Wilmslow.
The Pleyels, who share a passion for chamber music past and present are working with Rev. Dr Paul Smith to launch a series of concerts at St Bartholomew's Parish Church.
Harvey Davies, a professional pianist from Sale and his wife Heather Bills, a freelance cellist, are joined in the group by friends and colleagues who draw on a wealth of experience gained through many years of music-making.
Harvey, who works at the Royal Northern College of Music, told me "The ultimate aim of the concerts is to bring world class musicians and music to Wilmslow and to involve the local community in what we hope will become it's 'own' series."
The group very much hope to involve the local schools and to showcase some of the younger, local musical talent in their concerts. This is all going to take a while to set up and develop, however in the meantime, they are performing their first concert on November 26th at 7.30pm featuring "Trout" Quintet by Schubert performed by the Pleyel Ensemble.
Harvey added "We're passionate about sharing our love for live music with people and bringing beautiful, accessible music to Wilmslow."
The full programme for the concert is: Schubert: Trout Quintet, Mozart: Piano Quartet in G minor K. 478, Rossini: Duo for 'Cello and Double Bass in D major.
Tickets are £14 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for students, for further details and to purchase tickets visit the Pleyel Ensemble website.
