A group of friends have recently returned to Wilmslow having completed the 2011 Screwball Rally with 40 other cars.
They set off from Morley Green Club on September 15th and travelled 2300 miles across Europe, passing through France, Luxembourg, Germany, Czech Republic, Holland and Belgium in their old Volvo V40 estate
Nigel Woodall told me "The trip was tough camping and de camping every day after plenty of miles. The highlights were visiting different countries and meeting up with everyone at night but the low points were tiredness after travelling lots of miles.
"A few cars broke down or never made it, others received on the spot fines or were pulled over by the Czech police but our car coped extremely well. We had a slightly noisy wheel bearing but the car was good on fuel we drove from Amsterdam to north of the M6 Toll Road on the same tank."
The team completed the Screwball rally to raise money for sponsorship The National Autistic Society because one of the team member's son is autistic.
Nigel said "The sponsorship is still coming in but so far we have raised about £1200 so thank you to everyone who has sponsored us.
You can still sponsor Nigel, Mike, Anthony and Damien via their JustGiving page and help them raise more for the National Autistic Society.
