Charity fun day braves the rain

Despite the rainy day, over 300 people enjoyed A Fabulous Funday this weekend organised by Sainsbury's.

The free event took place at The Carrs on Saturday, July 16th, and raised over £600 during the day for Sainsbury's charity partner of the year JJ's Sensory Play Centre.

Imagine fm broadcast live from the park throughout the day and entertainment included performances from Lacey Green Primary School Steel Band and singer Tom Jarvis.

Attractions included pony rides from Wilmslow Animal Sanctuary, street football demonstrations from Project X, hook a duck and a variety of stalls including some specialist ones which will be part of the new artisan market coming to Wilmslow on Saturday, July 23rd.

Entertainment continued into the evening at the Royal British Legion with a disco, singer and children's magician.

Steve Morris, Store Manager at Sainsbury's Wilmslow, said "Our colleague Steve Wainman was the star, he single handedly set up the whole day and we will do it again next year.

"The evening also went well with Tom singing and me spinning the discs, we raised £200 on the night."
