Have your say on local policing

Wilmslow residents are invited to join the debate and help to influence the delivery of local police services.

A panel of Members of the Authority and Senior Police Officers will be seeking your views on Tuesday, 5th July, about policing and about where further savings can be made to meet the Coalition Government's cuts in police funding.

The facilitator of the Police Question Time event Police Authority Member, Terry Savage said "The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity to discuss the strategic matters affecting policing. If you want to put your question to our panel, or listen to the debate, just turn up on the night."

The Police Question Time meeting will take place on Tuesday 5th July at the British Legion on Grove Avenue starting at 7pm.

I would like to know what the Police in the area do now????? They are an endangered species. Some functions they had ,have been transferred .eg Traffic Wardens, Motor vehicle patrols reduced.I only ever see the odd Panda car in Wilmslow, usually at the ATM machine,or grabbing the croissants at Tesco.Certainly no beat police in the streets.Yes ,I am in the town most days, and yes, I have helped the local PCSO's and been involved with the Cheshire Police Focus Group.Baz
