Wilmslow Library is taking part in National Bookstart Week which runs from Monday June 6th until Sunday 12th.

The annual campaign urges mums, dads, grandparents and carers to introduce their young children to the world of books and this year's theme is 'All Aboard!' – involving story-telling, rhymes, singalongs and crafts based around transport and journeys.

National Bookstart Week is aimed at children aged five and under and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

On Monday, 6th June, Wilmslow Library will be holding an 'All Aboard!' Story time from 11am to 11.30am and on Thursday, June 9th, they will be holding a special Rhyme-time from 11am to 11.30am.

Cheshire East Councillor David Brown, Cabinet member with responsibility for performance and capacity, said: "It is important we encourage our children to enjoy and read books as early as possible. It's well known that a love of reading can help a child be successful in their school life but these events are also about making reading fun.

"I would urge anyone with young children to head to one of the many events on offer."
