Three adults and two children were rescued from one of the lifts at Waitrose yesterday afternoon.
Fire crews from Wilmslow attended the supermarket on Church Street and having released the people the lift was then isolated due to a faulty mechanism.
This afternoon two out of the three lifts at Waitrose remain out of operation.
