The sun was shining once again for this year’s IAPS Run for Fun. Organised by Wilmslow’s Pownall Hall School, the event saw over 200 Year 4 and 5 children from 9 schools across the region take part in the fun run.

“Sport for All” is the message of this community event where each child is encouraged to complete the 2 mile course (1.5 miles for the Year 4s). The children set off from Wilmslow Rugby Club and followed the course which meanders round the beautiful Bollin Valley Country Park.

These days the biggest problem parents are facing is their child becoming obese and this event shows children that sport is not only good for you, but it can also be great fun.

All the children managed to finish the course and came away feeling flushed with their achievements. Headmaster Jonathan Hall said “The Run for Fun is great fun for the children; it is not about winning, but the taking part. Everyone has had a great afternoon and the children have enjoyed a little healthy exercise out in the fresh air.”
