During September 44 professional contemporary artists from across Cheshire will be opening their studios to the public for Cheshire Open Studios (COS).
This event is a unique chance to meet artists, to discover how and where they produce their work and buy from them directly.
The county has been divided into three areas giving you the opportunity to visit several local studios in one day. During the third weekend of COS on the 25th and 26th of September 14 artists from the local area will be opening their doors.
Five artists from Wilmslow will be taking part, including Jane Mitchell who produces colourful textured, semi-abstract art pieces and Sue Crossfield whose handbuilt sculptures are inspired by marine imagery, natural forms and female figures.
Garry Olson, designer and maker of high quality hand-made furniture, pictured above, will also be opening his Stoney Lane studio.
Garry said "Cheshire Open Studios has been an annual event for 11 years and I have taken part each time. It is an opportunity to give the public a close-up view of the quality of my work and to talk to them about the process of commissioning a piece of furniture that is designed and made just for them.
"As a promotion tool it is second to none. It is also an opportunity to feature the gallery itself which is well appointed and available for other artists and craftspeople to rent for private exhibitions.
"This year I am sharing my workshop and gallery on the weekend of September 25th and 26th with Jane White and Karen Wise. Jane is a weaver of beautiful textiles featuring natural materials and unique patterns. She will be demonstrating on her loom. Karen, from Prestbury, produces vibrant paintings that are both surreal and reflective."
Other local artists opening their studios include Rebecca Crabtree, who produces jewellery made using silver, glass and enamel, and Yvonne Phillips who produces spontaneous, colourful, textured and abstract landscapes along with emotional and dramatic photography.
