Beyond the town centre Wilmslow is home to a wealth and variety of businesses which often go unnoticed - amongst the newcomers is The Pond, a creative animation company with a passion for narrative, imagery and visual style.

Based at Lacey Green, The Pond is the brainchild of Tina Harrison and Sean Cosgrave who have both worked for animation companies in Manchester for a number of years, and between them have a wealth of experience working on projects for the BBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic and ITV in addition to a feature films.

Having both suffered redundancies, Sean explained "We set up The Pond with a view to creating exciting and innovative graphics and animations for a broad range of industries. It's still early days for the company, but so far the interest we've had has been very promising and we have already completed a number of projects and have a rather daunting number pencilled in for the months ahead

"As well as working with local advertising and branding agencies, we have collaborated with other north west animation studios, lending our expertise where needed.

"Setting up The Pond was a big step for us as it is our first company. Everybody asks us how we came up with the name - we wanted something that would make us stand out and encourage people to ask questions, as well as allowing us to have fun with our companies image and branding. We felt that the name reflected the manner in which we like to work, which is to have as much fun as possible.

"We live together in Wilmslow so it seemed a natural place to start our business. With its great transport links and already thriving creative industries, we feel that our business can really prosper in Wilmslow."
