Wilmslow Photography Club has been awarded a Wilmslow Town Council Community Grant of £1,124.50 towards the cost of purchasing a new laptop for its meetings.
The arts-based 'Not for profit' group was founded in 1926 around a shared interest in photography.
The photography club's annual events programme includes self-funded demonstrations, excursions, workshops, presentations and community displays. It also supports several other local community groups, such as The Green Room Theatre, and this year is looking to host a photography competition open to all Wilmslow residents.
The new laptop will be used with a projector and display equipment to share photography and information at Wilmslow Photography Club meetings, in addition to supporting a club communications project and their upcoming photography competition.
Wilmslow Town Mayor, Councillor Tim Higgins, said, "Wilmslow Photography Club not only brings the community together over a shared interest, but also encourages an appreciation of our town and its features.
"We are pleased to support the club with their new technology equipment so that they can continue to showcase their photography, promote the club digitally and support members.
"We look forward to seeing the results of their photography competition later in the year."
