The Information Centre, next to Wilmslow Leisure Centre at Rectory Fields, has closed down and been relocated to Wilmslow Library on South Drive.

The new Customer Service Point, which will be used by many people in the area for payment of council tax and other general household bills, will provide customers with the added benefit of longer and more flexible opening hours, free internet access within the Library, specially trained members of staff and a full range of reference books and other materials to hand.

Councillor David Brown, Cabinet member with responsibility for performance and capacity, said: “Offering this level of convenience for residents is a great step forward. The Service Points have brand new technology to speed up processes for things like payments and we’ve brought all the services together in one place.”

Councillor Andrew Knowles, Cabinet member for health and wellbeing, commented: “This is a pilot project which was been very successful as the library provides a perfect reference point for those needing information about services and support.”
