A Wilmslow-based company has undergone a complete re-brand and is set to take advantage of major new government policy, regardless of which party wins the upcoming election.

As the UK’s leading supplier of residential and commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), EPC Assessments Limited has today re-branded as The National EPC Company.

The business, which handled more than 7,000 EPCs last month alone, works with major blue chip clients nationwide, including Sainsbury’s and Superdrug and leading estate agency chains such as Spicerhaart and Connells.

All three major parties have announced household energy management strategies ahead of the general election which The National EPC Company’s managing director, Marc Blomfield, believes will lead to an increase in EPC demand.

Marc said: “Labour’s Warm Homes, Greener Homes strategy and the Tories’ Green Deal initiative both include plans to reduce carbon emissions from the household sector in order to tackle climate change. Labour wants to cut emissions by 29 per cent and the Conservatives kick-start a £20bn investment into home energy. The Liberal Democrats promise to create 100,000 new jobs in home insulation and renewable energy and to launch an ‘eco-cashback’ scheme to make homes more efficient.

“Whoever wins the election, there will be a huge demand for our service of measuring the energy performance of properties and recommending ways homes can be run more efficiently.

“Our decision to re-brand as The National EPC Company reflects our standing as the leading provider of EPCs on a national scale. It also demonstrates our intention to be at the forefront of household energy recommendations at a time when household energy usage is high on the public agenda.”

The National EPC Company is predicting to increase turnover in the next financial year to £3.6m, up from the forecasted £2.9m for 2009/10, and has been identified by the North West Development Agency as one of the North West’s top 2,000 companies tipped for high growth.

The business recently moved to larger premises in Wilmslow town centre from its former base in Alderley Edge and is also preparing to launch a property services division.
