Caffe Amma, a brand new Indian Tea House concept opened in Wilmslow town centre today. As well as competing with the well-known coffee shops, Caffe Amma will offer a range of exotic teas, chilled Indian foods, fresh sandwiches, salads and a Haagen Daaz ice-cream bar.

Mohi Rahman, manager of Caffe Amma, has spent years in the wholesale industry, supplying both fresh and frozen foods to Indian restaurants. He explained "My personal dream is to revolutionise Indian food and drag it on to the highstreet."

The Indian Tea House is a family friendly, casual dining establishment which will be open from 8am until 10pm seven days a week. During the day the chilled Indian meals, including a 'meal deal tray', can either be eaten in, or for those wishing to take away cooking instructions are provided. In the evening Caffe Amma will offer a full dining experience, with the Indian food cooked fresh to order on the premises.

Business partner Amin Boukhobza, who spent five years working at Pret A Manger and will be concentrating on the sandwich and salad side of the business, said "There is no food menu, what's available is what's on the shelves."

Crowds gathered at the launch party last night, where they were given the opportunity to explore the stunning interior and take full advantage of the large outside seating area which is sure to be a big hit this summer.

DV8 Designs, a Cheshire based Architectural and Interior Design practice have assisted in transforming the vacant premises on Green Lane into the innovative flag ship restaurant for Caffe Amma.

Lee Birchall from DV8 Designs said "We have been delighted to be part of bringing Caffe Amma life long ambition to fruition, and are positive that the overall product reflects the hardwork and dedication of all those involved."
