Lindsay Hill, of Wilmslow based Citation is amongst the 113 business leaders from across the UK to have been short-listed as regional finalists in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards 2010.

Citation is joined by well known brand names, including: SuperGroup, which recently floated on the London Stock Exchange; Emma Bridgewater; Moonpig.com; Poundland; Republic; Seabrook Crisps; and Stagecoach.

Lindsay Hill said "I am delighted that all the hard work being done by my colleagues here at Citation plc is being recognised. We are now looking after thousands of clients across the UK by providing them with health & safety and employment law compliance services.

"We opened our new head office in Wilmslow in summer 2009 and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow the business. We expect to recruit another 50 people over the next couple of years.

"I have lived and worked in the local area for some years. Wilmslow and Alderley Edge are well known as fashionable and relatively affluent places. But what lies behind that is a real entrepreneurial spirit. I see a great many people with drive and ambition who are developing new businesses with imagination and flair."

Those shortlisted will compete at regional awards events in June. Regional winners will go on to vie for the title Ernst & Young ‘UK Overall Entrepreneur Of The Year 2010’, currently held by Michael Spencer, Chief Executive of ICAP plc, at a ceremony held in London in October.

Richard Hall, partner and UK Entrepreneur Of The Year leader at Ernst & Young, said: “Entrepreneur Of The Year recognises and rewards the people behind many of the world’s most innovative businesses.

“More than ever, this year’s finalists have shown their ability to adapt to market conditions, to forge ahead by seizing opportunities and taking market share in the toughest of times.
