Wilmslow Town Council has awarded Wilmslow Library a Community Grant of £2,000.
With the funding, Wilmslow Library will purchase a selection of board games for families and groups of friends to play in the library or to borrow and use at home, in addition to new craft supplies to be used at organised library events.
Wilmslow Library is a registered Cheshire East 'Warm PLaCE' – a place where local residents can keep warm and enjoy social activities in a supportive environment. Some of the resources funded by the grant will be available to those visiting the library as a Warm PlaCE.
The funding will also be used to pay for a Fun Science family event during Feb 2023 half term.
Wilmslow Town Council Chairman, Frank McCarthy said, "With Wilmslow Library being at the heart of the community and accessible to all, it is a pleasure to be able to fund resources and activities that will benefit many, allowing people to socialise in a warm, safe space for little or no cost."
