Plans have been approved for cafe at the car wash on the west side of Alderley Road, despite a revised scheme which resulted in a reduction in the number of car parking spaces.

Planning permission has been granted for a partial change of use of a building into a café with external decking to provide seating for customers at the site, which was formally a petrol filling station and has operated as a car wash since August 2018.

When the original plans were submitted in May 2021, CEC commented that there were not enough car parking spaces to comply with current regulations. The new planned layout, submitted in June 2022, showed a reduction in the number of customer parking spaces to five, including one disabled space. however, the agent has confirmed the café will only be used by customers of the car wash.

The existing building is currently a staff room and customer waiting room which will be converted into a café with a small room retained as an office.

The café will sell cold and hot drinks and primarily cold food with some hot snacks with 6 seats available inside and 14 on the decking.

The hours of operation are 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm on Saturdays and 10am to 5pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 21/2921M.
