School friends bake cakes for children's charity

Sisters Ella (9), Mia (7) and Rosie (4) Hankin along with their friends and neighbours Daisy (10), Scarlett (9) and Florence (7) organised a charity cake sale over the summer holidays to raise money for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

The girls, who all attend Ashdene Primary School, came together and were supported by the local community to raise an impressive £320.

Mum Louise Hankin said "Ella and Scarlett are close friends and both receive regular treatment at RMCH so we were really proud that they wanted to do this to try and give something back.

"They worked really hard to organise the sale along with their sisters and spent a whole weekend baking a selection of treats, setting up a cake stall outside the house and calling on friends and neighbours to pop over."
