To celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, the Wilmslow Civic Trust will be planting a mature copper beech tree by the junction of Broadway and the road into the Wilmslow Leisure Centre.
The event will take place in late autumn to give the tree the best chance of a healthy future.
On Jubilee Weekend Saturday, a symbolic planting of a wooden post aroused considerable interest from passers-by.
