Over 80 local professional artists, more than 1,000 pieces of artwork and an army of volunteers will return to Macclesfield Town Hall for the first Art Fair Cheshire event since 2019. From Thursday 26th May until Sunday 5th June Art Fair Cheshire will welcome visitors every day from 10.30am-5pm, including Jubilee weekend and the event is free to visit.
Art Fair Cheshire has been fundraising for East Cheshire Hospice for over 20 years. Every exhibiting artist donates a proportion of their sales to ECH, and, as a volunteer run event, this means that every penny made goes to support the hospice with its work in our community.
Three galleries will be brimming with a wide variety of original artwork, including a new gallery dedicated to emerging artists. Curated to display some of the most promising contemporary artists from the Northwest, expect to see bold contemporary styles, as well as materials and themes you may not have encountered before. The range of styles and materials will ignite curiosity, spark conversation, and produce unique investment opportunities for both first time buyers and the more experienced collectors who wish to support early career artists.
Art displayed in the large Assembly Room gallery covers a wide variety of hung work with something for everyone. Landscapes, abstract, still life, surrealism and more, using various media, will be presented in a number of connecting rooms. Returning artists include Lou Moore, Ben Kelly, Steven Bewsher, David Bez and Clare Allan. New to the event this year are artists including Ian Rayer-Smith, Tammy Walters and Olga Geoghegan.
The Capesthorne Gallery features original craft work such as jewellery, glassware, photography, and millinery. A broad selection of greeting cards, always very popular, will be available. It is also the home to a pop-up café which serves fresh home baked treats alongside tea and coffee, providing a welcome spot for visitors to meet up or take a break from their shopping.

Every penny of funds raised during the Art Fair goes to support the Art Therapy programme at East Cheshire Hospice which provides vital support to patients and their families during the most difficult times of their lives. Art plays a critical role at East Cheshire Hospice, helping patients come to terms with their diagnosis.
The exhibition, one of the largest volunteer run exhibitions in the UK, is open daily from 26th May – 5th June.
