A Fun Day for all at Wilmslow Community Market Garden

Wilmslow Community Market Garden is to host a number of events and activities including a sustainability, well being and climate change focused Fun Day on Saturday, 30th October from 11am to 3pm as part of the Festival of Nature.

After almost a year of growing local food, Wilmslow Community Market Garden is holding a Fun Day at Oakenclough Children's Centre where people are able to:

- Get involved with planting next year's food

- Make their own apple juice – bring a bottle!

- Attend mindfulness, yoga and well-being sessions

- Purchase upcycled gardening tools

- Get a bike health assessment for free

- Enjoy tea and cake

- Plus more including plenty of activities for both children and adults

The free event will be opened by Dr Mark Brennan of Wilmslow Health Centre who will be giving a short talk on the health benefits of gardening.

The day will include a combination of indoor and outdoor activities whatever the weather. For those who want to explore some of Wilmslow's cycle routes, there's a guided bike ride to the event leaving from The Carrs at 11am returning at 2.30pm (book via www.festivalofnature.co.uk).

Andrew Backhouse, Oakenclough Garden Leader & Transition Wilmslow Chair says, "This Fun Day is for everyone in Wilmslow and Handforth. It's exciting to get together with others and promote how simple, everyday changes can lead to positive climate action. There's plenty of activities for children and adults alike."
