Teenagers arrested for stealing bikes in town centre

Two teenagers have been arrested after stealing bikes belonging to two younger boys in Wilmslow town centre this week.

The robbery occurred on Church Street shorty after 5pm on Tuesday, 9th February.

Fortunately, the victims found the local PCSO on patrol nearby who was quickly able to relay information to other officers so a search for the bikes could commence.

A police spokesperson said "After a lot of running and a lengthy game of hide and seek led by Wilmslow Beat Team, two males were arrested and the bikes recovered."

A 17-year-old boy from Wilmslow and a 15-year-old boy from Stockport were arrested on suspicion of robbery and have since been released under investigation.
