Wilmslow’s first repair café hailed a great success

Transition Wilmslow ran a busy repair café on Saturday, 18th January, during which 22 repairers happy worked on a variety of items, including chairs, coffee grinders, power hoses, children's electronic devices, and one bike got repaired.

One attendee said "A friendly team of experts managed to fix my mother's handwoven wicker basket from the 1950s."

Andrew Backhouse of Transition Wilmslow said "Sadly we could not repair all the items, but as one person said, 'they saved us from electrocution and combustion'."

The next repair café will be at St Chad's Church in Handforth on the 28th March.

Andrew added "Put it in your diary now! It is all part of our efforts to make the area more resilient and take action on climate change."
