
Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was hit by a car which failed to stop whilst on a zebra crossing.
A 16-year-old girl reported that she had been hit by a blue car while crossing the road on the zebra crossing outside the Carters Arms between 4.10pm and 4.30pm on Thursday 12 December.
Anyone who witnessed the collision on Beddells Lane or can assist with our enquiries, is asked to call 101 and quote IML 587458.
She was a 16-year-old girl and it looks that the collision occurred sometime between 4.10pm and 4.30pm on 12/12/19,

Cars often drive much too fast up Bedell’s Lane in both directions. I use that zebra crossing on a daily basis and I can attest to the very poor quality of driving that you so often see. It’s almost as if some drivers are angry with you for slowing them down! Of course many people drive with courtesy but there are so many cars going in different directions the crossing is inherently dangerous. When are we going to change our behaviour and our road infrastructure so that pedestrians get absolute priority and avoiding accidents becomes our overall number one priority on our roads?
