Driver tests positive for drugs following serious accident on A34

Emergency services were called to reports of a serious traffic collision on the A34 Northbound at 3.13pm on Saturday, 17th June.

One vehicle, a Zenos E10, was involved in a crash just before the Handforth Dean roundabout.

The two occupants were removed by the fire service from the vehicle and taken to hospital due to the injuries sustained.

The driver provided a positive drugs wipe and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The road was reopened just before 8pm after being closed for nearly 5 hours so that the casualties could be attended to, debris cleared, and for accident investigation work to be carried out.

Police have asked any witnesses to the accident to contact on 101 and quote incident 599 of 17/6/17.
