Police are warning residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles or people following five recent burglaries in Wilmslow and Alderley Edge.
On Friday, 2nd December, offenders smashed the rear window to gain entry to a property on Congleton Close in Alderley Edge where they made an untidy search and jewellery was taken.
On the same day a property on Knightsbridge Close was broken into. Thieves forced the rear window open and stole jewellery, passports, car keys and money.
A brick was used to break the rear patio window of a house on Fletsand Road on Saturday, 3rd December. An untidy search of the property was made and jewellery, money and golf clubs were taken.
On Monday, 5th December, a brick was thrown through a window of a property on Dean Drive. Thieves then took car keys which were used to steal a Mercedes.
A shed was broken into by snapping the lock, at a property on Ashley Road in Lacey Green on Wednesday, 7th December. A bicycle was stolen along with tools and a chainsaw. Offenders then entered the house and stole a wallet.
Additionally, there were three incidents of items being stolen from insecure vehicles parked in Alderley Edge on Wednesday, 7th December.
PCSO Sarah Stanley said "Keep an eye out for anything suspicious and report it to police on either 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency). The quicker we are aware of an incident the quicker we can get there."
She added "Try to use timer lights whenever possible especially as most houses are in darkness now as we drive home from work. Keep car keys out of sight including spare keys and lock up all expensive or sentimental jewellery where possible. The harder you make it for burglars to get in and around your home the better."
If you would like any crime prevention advice specifically for your home you can call Cheshire Police on 101 and ask to speak to the crime prevention advisors. If you see any suspicious activity report it to police on 101. Alternatively information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
..AND when the Wilmslow Police Station closes (sold off for redevelopment by HQ beancounters) which it surely shall do - it's on Hawthorn Street by the way, take a drive past it and you will understand why it will be easy to justify closure due to 'under utilisation'; it's being deliberately run down, made to appear unnecessary ready for redundancy....
you can then appreciate the wonderful wisdom espoused by PCSO Stanley (no doubt suitably prepped by her superiors) who can quickly reach the scene of your recent break in, rape, murder or in search of the carrots lifted from the vegi patch from wherever she is dispersed in the wider Macclesfield region....
Just a reminder, any 'law enforcemment officer' working in the Wilmslow area must first clock on and, when their shift ends, clock off at a new facility in, wait for it......MACCLESFIELD, that's +12 miles away/or 20-25 minutes mad drive with a blue light. The local police station has a part time duty desk (god knows what hours they keep, there is a note on the door, but you can bet it will be closed when YOU need it) and is used for parking vehicles and probably brewing tea. The cells are locked so they cannot put anyone into them (I believe the nearest lock-up is Northwich).
If any of the above hits a nerve or should prove inaccurate, apologies - and that's probably all you can look forward to from the attending officer when they get called to your next unfortune incident!
..and please, don't shoot the messenger.
Now the baddies are locked up miles away (carted off by private contractors?) and the officers have to book-on (and presumably park) in Macclesfield.
