The under sixes team at Wilmslow Rugby Union Football Club has received a cash boost in excess of £1,350 from leading homebuilder, Taylor Wimpey.

The club, which is currently home to 19 teams, has received the donation to purchase brand-new training tops for its under sixes for the forthcoming season.

Alistair Harris, coach for the under sixes team at Wilmslow Wolves, explains: "We're thrilled that Taylor Wimpey has chosen to support our junior division, and to have the company on board as a 2016/2017 sponsor.

"As you can imagine, training and nurturing so many young players to the highest possible standard can be incredibly expensive, especially when it comes to purchasing kits, so we're extremely grateful for this generous donation."

Wilmslow RUFC has a thriving junior division, with 13 teams, ranging from under sixes to under 16s, as well as six adult teams.

Kate McClean, regional senior strategic land and planning manager at Taylor Wimpey, comments: "We understand the importance of introducing sports and team activities from a young age, and to see all of the work the club is doing with youngsters across Cheshire is amazing.

"It's clear that the club is very much at the heart of the local community, so as soon as we heard that the under sixes needed new training jackets, we jumped at the chance to help out."

Taylor Wimpey is currently building homes at a number of developments across Cheshire and south Manchester, including in Hazel Grove, Crewe, Sandbach, Northwich, Cuddington, and Winsford.

Alistair concludes: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank the team at Taylor Wimpey for the support on behalf of the whole club."
