First look inside Wilmslow's newest restaurant

At lunchtime I had a look around Wilmslow's newest restaurant which opened its doors to the public today (Tuesday, 2nd August).

Cibo is a family owned, independent restaurant which aims to provide an authentic Italian dining experience.

Speaking about why they decided to locate in Wilmslow, Manager Marco Valboni told me "We realised there is something missing in Wilmslow and want to provide fresh ingredients, typical from Italy so we can share the Italian experience."

Cibo, which means food, is a new venture and nothing to do with any other restaurant, including the one of the same name which has now closed in Didsbury.

Marco added "We have nine chefs and have built a very good team here including a chef from San Carlo and a chef from Rosso as well as Danilo, the former manager of Piccolino in Alderley Edge."

Located at 26-28 Green Lane, in the premises previously occupied by Swadesh Indian restaurant, Cibo provides 160 covers including a private function room and an external dining area with 70 covers and a retractable roof.

The restaurant will be open 7 days a week serving both lunch and dinner.
