There's still time for adults to complete the Something New Reading Challenge and be in with the chance of winning a £50 shopping voucher.

For the first time Wilmslow, Handforth and Alderley Edge libraries are offering adults and teenagers the opportunity to take part in their own Summer Reading Challenge. All participants who hand in their completed forms by the end of this month will be entered into the prize draw.

The children's reading challenge has now seen over 200 children complete at Wilmslow Library alone, and it would be great if the adults were able to match this.

The prize draw will take place at a free event on Thursday 8th October at 3.45pm at Wilmslow Library. As the 8th October also marks National Poetry Day 2015, local actress Delia Corrie will entertaining guests with poetry and selecting the prize winner. There will also be a display of the books recommended by those taking part.

Emily Morrey said "If you've not started yet or if you're taking part but worried that you may not finish the challenge in time, why not borrow a 'quick read' or an audiobook free of charge from Cheshire East Libraries online.

"Try something new and take advantage of what your library has to offer. If you're struggling to find something funny, exotic or risky, ask a member of library staff who will gladly make suggestions and point you in the right direction. There are no wrong books for this challenge, the categories are aimed to help you select a new author, book or genre, but the choice is ultimately yours!"

Forms are still available from Wilmslow, Handforth and Alderley Edge libraries, and also from the Cheshire East Council's website. Don't forget to drop yours in before the end of September to be entered into the prize draw.
