Talented musicians to perform Summer Serenades

George Hoult

After a very successful first show on Sunday, 7th June, the Summer Serenade Series at St Bartholomew's Church continues on Sunday, 14th June, with a recital of works by Beethoven, Chopin, Miaskowsky and Mayuzumi, given by award-winning cellist George Hoult and pianist Kathleen Uren.

George Hoult graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2014 and now lives in London where he divides his time between solo, chamber and orchestral work. He is the son of David Hoult, who many will remember was Head of Music at Cheadle Hulme School.

Kathleen has an outstanding reputation as an accompanist, having given many recitals in Britain and Europe, including broadcasts for BBC radio and television. Kathleen is delighted to be performing with George, who was her piano student from the age of five!

Further recitals will be held every Sunday through to 26th July, all starting at 3pm. The line-up includes many familiar names - renowned concert pianist and Senior Tutor at the RNCM, Murray McLachlan; Manchester Grammar School's Director of Music and harpsichordist, David Francis; cellist, conductor and Director of Music at Chetham's School of Music, Stephen Threlfall; violinist and Course Director of Chamber Music at Manchester University, Louise Latham - all of whom enjoy busy recording, broadcasting and performing careers alongside their high profile work in music education.

Admission to the Summer Serenades is free, with a retiring collection for the church Organ Restoration Appeal. Click here for full details of the programme each week.
