Wilmslow Historical Society Talk: Edith Nesbitt - Strines and the Railway Children

The talk is given by Craig Wright and entitled "Edith Nesbitt - Strines and the Railway Children".

E H Nesbitt was a frequent visitor to Strines - between Marple and New Mills - and Craig argues looking at the book and the film, that this locale, not Yorkshire, was the inspiration for the work.

Visitors welcome to the lectures and entry is £5 including tea/coffee and biscuits prior to the meeting - there is no charge for students.

Timings are 7.30 for 8.00 and the venue is the Large Hall at the United Reformed Church, Chapel Lane, Wilmslow, SK9 1PR. Please note that parking is available in the adjacent Health Centre.
