The Reverend David Jenkins will give an illustrated presentation on polymath Thomas Howard Somervell OBE (1890 - 1975), a British surgeon, painter, missionary and mountaineer, who was part of two expeditions to Everest in the 1920s. He was probably the last person to see George Mallory alive.
We welcome visitors and entry is £5 including tea/coffee and biscuits prior to the meeting - there is no charge for students.
Timings are 7.30 for 8.00 pm and the venue is the Large Hall at the United Reformed Church, Chapel Lane, Wilmslow, SK9 1PR. Please note there is parking available in the adjacent Health Centre.
