21-year-old man robbed in Lacey Green Park

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Lacey Green Park in the early hours of Saturday, 1st February.

Sometime after 5.30am a 21-year-old man had walked from Barlow Road into the park. As he exited the park at the Twinnies Road end he felt a heavy blow to the back of his head.

He was knocked to the floor and was kicked in the head and face. The offenders, who he did not see, stole cash from him and fled the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was released a short time later.

DC Jim Bowbeer said: "Thankfully the victim did not receive serious injuries. We would urge anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any information to contact police in order to help us with our enquiries."
