Following last year's cancellation, due to heavy rain, the 101st Wilmslow Show took place in glorious sunshine on Sunday, 14th July.
Thousands of people gathered in the grounds of Wilmslow High School to enjoy a great day out for people of all ages.
The Horticultural Society's marquee was a show in its own right, hosting vegetable, art, flower and photographic displays. Plus the Classic Car Show, which has grown over the years, provided a superb display of over 300 cars.
There was entertainment in the arena throughout the afternoon, including a falconry display, dressage show, Taikwondo demonstration and the ever popular dog and duck show.
Whilst at the bandstand Rode Hall Brass Band, Wilmslow High School Band, Lost in the Mist, Hazel Grove Steel Band and Panetonic Steel Band entertained the crowds throughout the afternoon.
Other highlights included the food marquee, the Rotary scarecrow competition display, a 1970's BBC TV outside broadcast Scanner and the show would not have been complete without the animals, which included pony rides, a 'mini zoo' and the Fun Dog Show.
Cllr Dorothy Flude, Mayor of Cheshire East, attended the Wilmslow Show to present trophies to the winners of the classic car and fun dog shows.
Unfortunately the RAF flypast of a Battle of Britain DC3 Dakota was unable to take place. Following a bird strike on Saturday the plane was forced to make an emergency landing. The team then worked through the night to get it going but on their way to the show one of the engines failed.
The show is organised by a small committee of about 15 members who work extremely hard to put on this event.
Frank McCarthy has been a member of the committee for 17 years and Chairman of the Wilmslow Show for the past 7 years.
He said "Shows are dying around the country but we're still going and growing - there is something about Wilmslow which is special. It was so nice to see so many people around."
Frank added "Thanks to Wilmslow Town Council and Cheshire East Council, without their support this wouldn't happen. Thanks also to our sponsors, the Rotary Club and The Lions and the RAF for trying so hard to get the Dakota plane here today."
