A barbecue which had been carelessly discarded caused a fire at Lindow Common this week.
Firefighters were called to the Site of Special Scientific Interest at 2.23pm on Friday, 7th June.
On arrival they discovered a grass fire measuring approximately 20 metres by 10 metres.
Beaters and a hose reel jet were used to extinguish the flames.
